WHY US?
As a child-led, play-based family day home serving a variety of ages, we do not have a traditional curriculum. I believe that children learn best when interested in an activity of their choosing, and I provide a safe environment where children receive focused attention, can learn to make decisions, solve problems, and grow in confidence.
I give your child the space and freedom to be just that - a child! Play is a vital part of a child's development and growth. It encourages brain development, it allows children to explore their environment and use their senses, it encourages children to use their imaginations and pretend, it encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and it helps children develop motor skills. Children also learn how to make friends, empathize, and resolve conflict.
Here your child will be loved, and your family will truly become an extended part of our family.

"Miss Sam is amazing with my son. I love the crafts she sends home with him, and so do his grandparents. He is so comfortable with her and I’ve never been more at ease leaving my son with someone." - Rebekah
"Other than my mother-in-law, Sam (owner of Small Steps Home Daycare) is the ONLY person I trust & feel comfortable leaving my daughter with. She has such a great home environment. Arts & crafts, outdoor playground, lots of entertainment [and snacks haha] Sam’s own daughter is so polite and friendly to other children so that’s always a plus 🥰 10/10 recommend Sam at Small Steps Home Daycare. She’s a baby whisperer for sure!" - Mandy
"I was looking for a daycare and just happened to find Small Steps Home Daycare. Sam is beyond amazing with my sweet Lilenna. She sends texts and pics during the day and always has a cute paper with everything Lenna did that day. I love how she is so hands on. I love crafts very much and she does lots of them, the crafts and paintings are great keepsakes!! I couldn't ask for a better place or person to take care of my sweet girl!! I 100% recommend Small Steps Home Daycare to any parent looking for a great place for their child to go while they are working." - Melissa
"Though we only had our daughter with Samantha at Small Steps for a few months, we all had a wonderful experience there. This was our daughter’s first time going into daycare and Samantha helped her adjust quickly and feel right at home. She learned so many valuable social skills from the other children there. Samantha kept us updated every week on how she was doing with naps, meals, and general behavior and helped worked through the few tough days that our daughter had. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our child! Highly recommend Small Steps Home Daycare!" - Jennifer
